Just sitting at home during national lockdown is a necessary precaution but it sure gives way to boredom and jaded emotions in a very short duration. I have my own means to fight this battle against depression and it's called as "creativity". It's a super fun weapon against hopelessness and every single one of us have it. We just need to weild it everyday.
I have come with a project which was as fun and cheerful to make as it looks. I have made a multi-purpose trinket box of 6in x 6in. Apart from its cheerful and vibrant asthetic value, it has tremendous utility as it can be used as a storage for your knick-knacks, trinkets, jwellery, love notes and whatnot!
I have used Nakshatra Designz Sunflower Kisses decoupage paper. It's a set of 4 lovely designs of vibrant sunflowers and blue pattern designs in combination of some very eye-catching and soothing colours of yellow and blue.
I have painted the entire inside of the box with a vibrant shade of yellow which matches the shades of yellow of the sunflowers in the papers and which also happens to a beautiful contrast to the blues shades in the other design used for the sides of the box. I also stenciled a positive thought to look at every time the box will be opened. The thought is as lovely as the colour scheme of the box. "Think happy thoughts"!!
I also decided to give some dimensions to the entire project and hence used a little resin to give raised/embossed effect to the brown centre of all the big sunflowers. This effect looked really cool when light and shadows played on the box.
These designs are perfect synonyms for the spring season which is just upon us all! Use this lovely paper to make a similar project or any other art project to engage your mind and time and to have a small sense of achievement and to turn one of the corners of your home into a spring bouquet.
