Tin box decoupage- DT Richa Sharma

Hi friends,
Hope you all are doing great.
I am back again with an interesting project. This time I will be transforming a tin chocolate box using the decoupage papers from Nakshathra Designz.
So sit back and enjoy the tutorial.

1. You can upcycle any tin box /metal box or any  cardboard/wooden box using the versatile Nakshathra Designz decoupage papers. They are so easy to work with.

2. PREPARING THE BASE- Now , it’s completely an optional step . You can prime the base with the gesso after sanding it a little,or you can directly stick the Nakshathra Designz decoupage papers on the base also .

3. Now take the beautiful paper and cut it with the help of scissors as per the dimensions of the box .
Now apply decoupage glue on the base and paste the decoupage paper on the top of the box .

4. Apply a little pressure to take out any trapped air bubbles

 5. Now let the project dry completely. Apply a layer of decoupage glue on top of the paper .
Again this step is optional. You can skip it .
 6. Take some gilding glue and apply it on the areas you want to add on the gold foil.
 7. Put on the gold foil and using the heat gun , dry it and brush off the extras with a round brush .

8. You can finally seal the project with the varnish. I painted rest of the box with the black gesso and applied gold gilded it and further sealed it with the varnish.

The box is ready. You can gift it to your friends and family ❤️.

Or you can keep it as a storage box.  So stop throwing the plastic/tin/cardboard boxes and start recycling them . It’s a win - win situation for both the environment and us (saves money -and adds beauty)
