Decoupage Tray - DT Priyanka Srivastava

Hello people,

I am here today with a project which I made to give it as a gift to a lovely couple. I made a tray using Nakshthra Designz Decoupage papers with very traditional design.
It is very easy to make. Here are the steps you can follow:
✨ First take a raw mdf tray base and colour the inside walls and outside walls with a matching base colour. Choose the base colour according to the design of the paper. Here I have chosen teal coloured chalk paint.

✨ Then cut the paper properly according to the dimensions of the inside of the tray. Make sure you cut the paper 1mm less than the dimension as it will give better opportunity to avoid air bubbles. Now paste the paper to the tray base inside with the help of Mod Podge. Make sure to avoid any air bubbles while doing it.

✨ Once it's dry, add another layer of Mod Podge on the entire surface of paper to seal it. Allow it to dry properly.

✨ Now take a contrasting chalk paint colour from the design and colour the edges of the tray to make it highlighted. Also colour the outside base of the tray (underneath the tray) with this contrasting colour.

✨ To give some zing and dimension to your project, do some stencilling work with the contrasting colour on the outside walls of the tray like this.

✨ Last step is to seal with 2 or 3 coats of varnish to make it water proof and your decoupaged tray is ready to be used.
Use this lovely paper to make a similar project or any other art project for yourself or your loved ones.
Do check out other designs of Nakshathra Designz Decoupage Papers too!
Cheers!
